National Programmes

Introducing the next generation to the joy of cricket with our National Programmes.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Foundation (L&RCF) delivers the England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) flagship entry-level programmes, All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket, at clubs and community centres across the region. These programmes are the perfect, safe, and fun way to introduce children to the sport and help them develop fundamental skills.

All Stars Cricket (Ages 5-8)

  • All Stars is an entry-level programme designed to be a child’s first experience of cricket. It focuses on movement skills, fun games, and basic cricket skills like batting, catching, and throwing.
  • Ages:Boys and girls aged 5 to 8 years old.
  • Format:Eight 60-minute sessions held over eight weeks during the spring and summer.
  • Cost:There is a charge for the programme (around ÂŁ50, check specific club prices), which includes a personalised t-shirt delivered to your door.
  • Parents:Mums and dads are encouraged to join in the fun!

Dynamos Cricket (Ages 8-11)

  • Dynamos provides a fantastic next step for All Stars graduates and an ideal introduction for 8-11 year olds new to the sport. It focuses on developing skills and playing a fast-paced game called “Countdown Cricket”.
  • Ages:Boys and girls aged 8 to 11 years old.
  • Format:Eight 60-90 minute sessions held over eight weeks.
  • Cost:There is a charge for the programme (check specific club prices), which includes a personalised Dynamos Cricket New Balance t-shirt.
  • Focus:Emphasis on fun, social interaction, and developing core skills in an active environment.

How to Access the Programmes

  • The programmes are delivered nationwide at over 2,000 centres, primarily local cricket clubs within Leicestershire and Rutland.
  • For Parents/Guardians:
  • Find a Club:Visit the ECB website’s programme finder tool to locate your nearest participating club and register your child directly.
  • Check Availability:Club sessions run at specific times and days, usually in the evenings or on weekends.
  • For Clubs:
  • Become a Centre:Clubs can register to become an All Stars or Dynamos centre and receive support, equipment, and training for activators from the L&RCF.
