MCC Hubs

MCC Foundation Hubs are an initiative by the MCC Foundation, the charitable arm of the Marylebone Cricket Club. These hubs provide:

  • Free, high-quality coaching: Delivered over a 10-week winter programme by qualified ECB Level 2 coaches and above.
  • Match play opportunities: An opportunity to compete in the National Hub Competition in the summer.
  • Talent identification: The programme is a key talent identification opportunity, feeding into the wider county performance pathway.
  • Leicestershire and Rutland Hub Locations The L&RCF runs multiple hubs to ensure accessibility for players across the region. Recent hubs have been run at:
  • Crown Hills Community College (Boys & Girls)
  • Rushey Mead Academy (Boys & Girls)
  • Elite Hub

How to access the programme

  • To gain access to the hubs, young players must meet specific eligibility requirements and attend a trial process.

Requirements for participation:

  • Age: Players must be between 11 and 16 years old (school years 7–11).
  • State School: Players must attend a state secondary school.
  • Talent Pathway Status: Participants cannot already be a member of a County Age Group programme.
  • Commitment: Players must be willing to commit to attending all training sessions and give 100% effort.

Application process:

  • Registration: The L&RCF advertises the trial dates and locations for each hub. Parents or players can register for these trials to be considered for a place. You can keep an eye on the L&RCF’s social media pages (e.g., Facebook) for upcoming trial information.
  • Trial Period: Players are assessed during trials to identify their skills and potential.
  • Selection: Successful players are offered a place in the winter training programme.
