D40/Super 9s

The Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Foundation is committed to making cricket accessible for everyone. We are working hard to develop our Disability Cricket offer, including opportunities to play in the Super 9s and D40 competitions. If you are interested in taking part, we’d love to hear from you!

What is D40 Cricket?

  • D40 (Disability 40) is a hard-ball format played over 40 overs.
  • It is designed for players with physical or learning disabilities who want to play competitive cricket.
  • Matches follow traditional cricket rules with some adaptations to ensure inclusivity.
  • Players should have previous experience with hard-ball cricket or be confident in developing those skills.

What is Super 9s Cricket?

  • Super 9s is a softball format played with an incrediball.
  • It’s perfect for players who are new to cricket or prefer a less intense version of the game.
  • Matches are shorter, fun, and focus on participation and enjoyment.
  • Ideal for those who want to build confidence and skills before progressing to hard-ball cricket.

Who Can Play?

  • Both formats are open to players with physical or learning disabilities. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, there’s a place for you in our disability cricket pathway.
