Training

At the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Foundation (LRCF), we believe cricket should be safe, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone. To achieve this, we provide comprehensive Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) training and resources for clubs, coaches, volunteers, and community partners.

Our Commitment

  • Safeguarding: Every participant has the right to enjoy cricket in an environment free from harm. We adopt the ECB’s Safe Hands policy and ensure all staff, coaches, and volunteers complete the required safeguarding training.
  • EDI: We are committed to breaking down barriers and creating a culture where everyone feels they belong. Our EDI initiatives help clubs and individuals understand best practices for inclusion and respect.

Training & Support Available

  • ECB Online Safeguarding Induction: Essential for anyone working with children in cricket.
  • Safeguarding for Specialist Roles: Advanced modules for coaches, officials, and club officers.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Workshops: Practical sessions to help clubs create inclusive environments.
  • Multi-Agency Learning Opportunities: Access to local safeguarding partnerships and e-learning resources.
  • Ongoing CPD: Continued professional development for all roles within cricket.

Why It Matters

  • Safeguarding and EDI are not just policies—they are the foundation of a positive cricket experience. By completing training and embedding these principles, we ensure cricket remains a safe, fun, and inclusive sport for all.
