Lord Taverners Wicketz

Using cricket as a tool for social change in Leicestershire and Rutland with Wicketz.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Foundation (L&RCF), in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners charity, runs the Wicketz programme. This free, year-round community cricket programme is aimed at young people aged 8 to 19 living in areas with high levels of deprivation and limited opportunities to access regular sports.

What is the Wicketz Programme?

  • Opportunities to learn from role models and community leaders.
  • National festivals and residentials where participants can play at top-class facilities, experience spending time away from home, and meet peers from across the country.
  • Progression pathways into coaching, umpiring, and scoring, with many former participants becoming coaches on the programme themselves.
