Engagement Day

At the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Foundation, we are proud to deliver Chance to Shine Schools Engagement Days, inspiring thousands of young people to discover the joy of cricket.

These special days bring together pupils from local schools for a fun-filled celebration of cricket. They are designed to:

• Introduce cricket to new audiences – giving children of all abilities the chance to pick up a bat and ball, often for the very first time.
• Promote teamwork and inclusion – through exciting games and activities that encourage collaboration and fair play.
• Build confidence and life skills – helping young people develop resilience, communication, and leadership in a supportive environment.

Who is Eligible?

• Primary Schools across Leicestershire and Rutland that are part of the Chance to Shine programme.
• Schools that have engaged with our cricket coaching sessions during the academic year.

Priority is given to schools in areas where cricket participation is low or where pupils have limited access to sports opportunities.

Why It Matters

Cricket teaches values that go beyond the boundary – respect, perseverance, and community. By engaging schools across Leicestershire and Rutland, we are helping to grow the game and nurture the next generation of players and fans.
